Here are a few important facts and tips to help your wedding ceremony go smoothly and stress-free.

Engaged

Before Your Wedding

  • Make sure that you book your officiant as soon as you book your venue or when you plan your date and time.

  • Go to the City Clerk's office and apply for your Marriage License.  You must have a Marriage License to legally marry in Ontario. This can be done up to 3 months prior to your wedding day and you can download the application at ServiceOntario.ca

  • Call your officiant the week before your wedding to touch base and confirm your details.

On Your Wedding Day...

  • Be sure to have your Marriage License as it is a mandatory part of your ceremony.

  • Give your Marriage License to your wedding planner or a trusted guest in the event that you will not be at the venue early.

  • Your officiant will arrive 15 - 30 minutes prior to the designated start time.  Make sure they know who they need to meet to collect the Marriage License and Payment before the ceremony begins.

  • Make sure that you eat and stay hydrated on your wedding day.  If not, you may become low in energy, low in blood sugar and then become faint and hangry. :)
